Alyce, where have you been?
I’ve been MIA for the past couple of weeks, so I thought it was time to write an update and let you all know what’s been going on.
You’ll probably remember that I had a baby towards the end of March. She is perfect, but she’s been going through a seemingly endless string of growth spurts. That means all of the time I could have dedicated to blogging has been taken up with breastfeeding an extremely hungry little noodle. She seems to be calming down again now, so I should be able to fit blogging into my schedule on a more regular basis, which I’m very thankful for. I’ve missed being able to write. I’ve even basically stopped reading because it’s hard to find the motivation. All I really do nowadays is sleep.
As well as having a baby, I’ve recently started a new job. I’ve been there for less than two weeks so I’m not going to share too much about it just yet, but it’s very fun and I love being back in customer service. It can be quite slow but the work is constant, and it’s nice to be able to escape from baby for a few hours a week and give her daddy a chance to hang out with her by himself.
They aren’t the only reasons I’ve been MIA, though. Everything Alyce finally closed (if you’d like to you can still visit it on blogspot, but the domain is gone) and getting that sorted was a bit of a hassle. My email account went down and I had no idea whatsoever because I hadn’t had the time to check it, so I didn’t find out that it was broken until two weeks had passed. If you’ve tried to contact me in the past few weeks and have been unsuccessful, I’m really sorry!
On top of that, my post scheduling has been ridiculously haywire. I had material prepped and ready to post throughout the past fortnight, but for some reason none of them have gone up. I’ll be able to manually push them all through, but that’s a lot of effort when I’m struggling to find the time. It means I’ve missed blog tour posts and Top Ten Tuesdays, and I’ve got a huge backlog of book reviews ready and waiting to go. Irritating isn’t the word! I think I’ve fixed it now, though, so hopefully we’ll be okay from here on out.
Now you’re all caught up on what’s been happening! Just in time, too, because baby has just awoken and decided she wants feeding again. Look forward to my backlog of posts appearing over the course of the next few days, and thank you so much for your patience.
