Series Crackdown TBR
Last week, I discovered a readathon called Series Crackdown. Running for ten days from the 9th to the 18th of February, the challenge is to read as many books from series as you physically can over the course of the readathon. The upcoming installment is going to me the third Series Crackdown, but I’m already planning to participate in any that happen in the future.
It’s not a secret that I’m terrible at reading series. I struggle to start any that are already a few installments deep because it’s too much of a commitment. My brain is also a sieve, so if I start a series and there are still new books being released I’m not going to be able to remember anything that happened by the time the next release date swings around. It’s a problem.
However, I’m going to try my hardest to ACTUALLY commit to the Series Crackdown readathon, and I’m planning on reading these three series:
- The Harry Potter series
I’m already two books in, but I need to read the last five. They’re technically children’s books, so surely that means they’re fast reads and I should be able to get through them easily? (The answer: probably not!)
- The Half Bad trilogy
I’ve read Half Bad twice, but I couldn’t bring myself to move on to Half Wild. I was too invested in the characters and didn’t want bad things to happen to any of them, but it’s time to get past my fear!
- The Sin Eater’s Daughter trilogy
Again, I’ve read the first book in this series a couple of times, but I haven’t read the other two books. First of all it was because I was waiting for the final installment, The Scarecrow Queen, to be released… Then it was because I was too scared, and I decided to hide under my blanket and refuse to read them instead.
Really, it shouldn’t be difficult to read all of those books in ten days. I don’t have a job, so my time isn’t going to be taken up with work, and other than seeing Highly Suspect on the 9th of February I have no plans during the readathon dates. Fingers crossed I’ll be able to get them all done!
